The Otto Lilienthal Medal awarded to the Czech Republic for the first time
Clouds account for a half of the world’s beauty, and sometimes even for all of it. Those who soar in a silent glider around beautiful clouds, high above the hurried world, far away from mundane problems, know best. They are glider pilots, who have become addicted to the nature’s magic, usually forever. Many of them fly for pleasure; others have found their self-realization in breaking records. This short English-Czech booklet presents a story of one family’s obsession with records and journey to success. I believe that it will please those who asked me to publish it, and that it will introduce the reality of the sport to those of you who only from the hearing.
